Exercise & Nutrition is for Everybody - Bri's Story

Updated: Aug 15, 2023

What started off as an intention to see a personal trainer for just one summer turned into a complete life changing experience. I was pre-diabetic and living with hypothyroidism. I was struggling daily with low energy and joint pain. I was on anti-anxiety medication. All of this at only 25 years old.

I knew I needed to make some changes to improve my health because I was headed in a direction I didn’t want to be.

To give some insight on my personality, I’ve never been one to exercise. I consider myself an introvert. I enjoy spending majority of my free time at home watching movies, reading, crafting, cooking, etc. At the time, I was a full time student and worked full time at a sit-down job. I led a pretty sedentary lifestyle.

I had attempted the gym thing in the past but it never continued past a few trips. I never knew how to use any of the equipment past the treadmill or elliptical. I felt self conscious to go near the weights, surrounded by people with much more experience.

Starting at Pro Push Fitness was the beginning that changed all that. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. My trainer made it a point to ask questions about my lifestyle and what my goals were.

She showed me what to do and how to do it. She showed me how the gym equipment works and I very quickly fell in love with it all. Finally, cardio was not my sole focus! I learned just how important weight training is for effective results as well.

Their Nutrition program did more than provide a meal plan. They built a full nutrition plan, including macronutrients specific to my own needs and body type.

Regular progress assessments where built into my plan to monitor and make adjustments if needed. They explained how certain foods affect the body and why certain other foods should be avoided. This is something I always appreciated. The more I learned, the more I actually thought about what I was putting into my body.

One of the most important factors that made this entire experience work so well for me is the accountability factor. I know myself enough to know that I have a habit of making excuses for myself, especially with a busy schedule, as to why “I don’t have time to go to the gym”. It’s different when you have a standing appointment with someone and someone to answer to. It also helped that I looked forward to my appointments because of the conversation. They are very easy to talk to, down to earth, positive, and understanding.

As of today, I’ve lost 50lbs, my BMI has gone from 35.7 to 27.6 and my body fat from 40.8% to 31%.

Through my nutrition changes and regular exercise I no longer require the use of anti-depressants and haven’t had to take them in over a year.

My energy levels are the best they’ve ever been, I feel more confident and more capable.

I even participated in a Mud Run back before the pandemic and with a group of other Pro Pushers - something past-me would never in a million years participated in. And actually enjoy it! I’ll be doing another one real soon!

I graduated from ASU with a degree in Human Development. But as I’ve become so passionate about health and nutrition through my experiences at Pro Push, I’m looking into returning to school to become a Nutritionist.

I’m so incredibly thankful for Pro Push and their exceptional training staff. I’ve learned so much and genuinely feel like I’ve made a huge turn in my life for the better. I plan to continue here until I reach new goals I’ve set for myself.

I highly recommend training at Pro Push Fitness. I hope my story has convinced you to set up a consultation today, because believe me, it’s worth it!
